--The Royals snapped a 12-game losing streak, the longest in the majors this season with a 4-2 victory over the Indians Saturday. "I slept a little better last night," Royals manager Trey Hillman said Sunday. "There's still some restlessness there, but it was better. It's a relief, but it's got to carryover. You've got to keep that balanced and in perspective. We've got to play consistently. We've got to stop losing balls in the sky. We've got to stop making base-running mistakes. We've got to put our pitching and offense together consistently, so we can win games."
--Alberto Callaspo became the fourth different Royals starting shortstop in as many games. The others were Esteban German, Tony Pena Jr. and Mike Aviles. --2B Mark Grudzielanek ended a 172 at-bat homerless drought with a home run Sunday, his first since Sept. 24, 2007 at Baltimore. It was his third career home run off RHP Paul Byrd, which ties for the most any home runs off any pitcher. Grudzielanek also has three home runs off Mike Timlin and Shawn Estes.
--SS Tony Pena Jr. went 1-for-13 on the homestand to drop his average to .155.
--1B Ross Gload had his first three-hit game of the season Sunday.
--The Royals finished May with a 10-19 record.
